Why it matters

Buy from anywhere. Still know what you're buying.

Eyes on the car, wherever it is

Buy a car three states away with a trained inspector's read on it, without sending anyone from your store.

Know the car before you fund

The report is on the deal before money moves, so your offer reflects what the inspector actually found.

The right inspection for each deal

Send a mechanic when a car needs hands on it, or use an AI self-inspection when photos are enough. Both are ordered from the same deal.

Questions

What dealers ask about inspections.

What is the DealNow and Lemon Squad partnership?

Lemon Squad is the mechanical inspection option inside DealNow. While you're buying a car in DealNow, you can send one of Lemon Squad's ASE-certified inspectors to the car, and the report comes back attached to the deal.

Who inspects the car?

An inspector from Lemon Squad's network of ASE-certified inspectors, which covers the entire US, including Alaska and Hawaii.

What does the inspection check?

Body and paint, accident and flood damage, engine and transmission, brakes, suspension and steering, electrical, the interior, fluids and leaks, and a computer code readout, plus a road test when the car is street legal and conditions are safe.

How long does it take?

Inspections are typically completed within two business days, depending on the inspector's schedule, the seller's schedule and the weather. Lemon Squad doesn't schedule inspections on weekends.

What does the seller need to do?

Make the car available. The inspector contacts the seller to confirm the car is still available and sets up the appointment.

AI or mechanical inspection?

Either, chosen per deal. An AI self-inspection is photo based with results in minutes; a mechanical inspection sends a certified inspector to the car.

How is it billed?

Inspections are an optional service ordered from inside the deal, priced by the provider and billed to your DealNow account. See our pricing page for how optional services work.
