Questions
What dealers ask first.
Why do dealers use DealNow?
DealNow is how dealers buy cars from private sellers — the highest-gross way to source inventory, and the hardest. Every deal means verifying a stranger, moving tens of thousands of dollars, and handling a title, almost entirely by hand and against rising fraud. DealNow makes it one guided transaction, so a store can buy more cars without adding overhead.
Do you buy the cars, or do I?
You do. DealNow never takes title, never makes an offer, and never bids against you. We’re the infrastructure your deal runs on — the car and the margin are yours.
I already pay for private-party leads. Why do I need this too?
Lead providers stop at the handshake. Once your seller says yes, you’re back to phone calls, a payoff call to the bank, and wet signatures. DealNow starts at yes: enter the VIN and the deal runs the same way every time.
Keep the lead sources you already use. We’re what happens after the lead converts.
My DMS already handles deals. Why can’t I do this there?
Your DMS is built for retail and trade-ins — a customer in your store, trading against a sale. It has no workflow for buying from a stranger: no identity verification, no fraud screening, no payoff sourcing, no way to pay a private individual. That’s the gap DealNow fills.
How do I know the seller is who they say they are?
Before a dollar moves, the seller passes a license document check, a live selfie matched to that license, and a device and phone check. Every result is stamped on the deal record. If they won’t complete it, the deal doesn’t advance.
How do you know the car is actually theirs to sell?
We match the verified identity to the name on the title, so the person signing is the person who owns the car. A real person selling someone else’s vehicle is the fraud that costs the most — and it’s the one an ID check alone will never catch.
What happens when the car still has a loan on it?
Most do — it’s the step that kills deals. With the seller’s permission we look up the loan on their credit profile and match the collateral to the VIN, alongside a payoff statement you or the seller uploads. The deal is built on the real payoff, and the lien is tracked to release.
How long until the lien is released and I have the title?
Your part ends at close. We have the payoff package in the lender’s hands within one to two business days, without anyone at your store lifting a finger. Release then depends on the bank — typically 4 to 12 days.
How does the seller actually get paid, and how fast?
With DealNow Pay, seller proceeds go out the moment the deal closes and land in seconds at most banks — weekends included. No cashier’s check, no trip to the bank, no “come back Monday.” For most sellers, that’s the reason they picked you.
Can I pay the seller or the bank outside DealNow?
Yes, on any deal. Pay the lender directly, pay the seller your own way, or both — then tell us how you paid and it’s recorded on the deal. When someone asks in six months who got paid what, the file answers.
Can I buy a car 100 miles away — or in another state?
Both, and either one runs like a car in your lot. Every check happens remotely: ID, title and payoff, signatures, funding. Distance stops deciding which cars are worth chasing. Add inspection and transport in the same flow.
What does it cost?
A monthly platform fee plus a flat fee per completed deal, with optional services — inspection, transport, MVR lookups, loan payoff and lien release — priced separately and billed to your account. Full breakdown on our pricing page.
